What bothered me about the Scott Conan episode was that he cut his finger and they let his food move forward; by having the producers or whomever is behind the scene “inspect” his food. Considering that blind judging is used in another Food Network hallmark, Beat Bobby Flay, there is no reason it couldn’t be easily incorporated into Chopped. What’s real and fake about Chopped? The nerve of Food Network to dump this load of crap on us during a pandemic. In this new edition of Chopped, three past champions battle each other for the opportunity to compete against a Chopped judge and, hopefully, win. Now I’m going to bed angry .
I assumed the judge is just donating the prize money like they do in GGG with the judge episodes or celebrity chopped etc. "We have four camera operators right in front of each of the chefs," the Queer Eye alum explained, noting that producers are always looking for memorable reaction shots. Totally agree. Chopped beat the Judges. Close. 14 comments.
... Yeah, I watched 2 episodes the first one the judge won even though no one could taste one of of the ingredients in his dish. It should have definitely been blind test judges.
I hate these episodes. The Chopped judges could use canned dog food, get blood on their station, drop food on the floor & pick it up and use it any way, forget an ingredient.......and still win.....ALL things that would cause another chef to lose a round!!
They did another entree round?
Alex and Scott both should have lost IMO, The new editing style to me is the most alluring part - I feel like we’re seeing more of the scene around the set (which I’ve always wanted to see). I’ve watched all 3 episodes of Chopped Judges & I won’t watch again!
I love this show, but this series is extremely unfair to the competitors. This version of the series is a joke. I’m not sure if it’s new so I’ll try not to spoil and name names but I just watched one where a judge CRIED because of the competing judge’s dish.
I also have to say that I feel like Scott Conant has changed. "We have four camera operators right in front of each of the chefs," the Queer Eye alum explained, noting that producers are always looking for memorable reaction shots. The judge doesn't have to work nearly as hard, the contestant gets chopped based on one dish instead of being judged against all three like normal episodes. The judging of this series reveals a deeper truth about the judges: They believe themselves to be above the same errors that they would have gladly and willingly eliminated other chefs for in the blink of an eye.
The judges have no business being the “judges” in this series. The 2 times I watched the contender out cooked the judge both times. And....shocker he WINS the first 2 rounds! IF YOU MAY???? During Chopped's third season, Food Network forcefully denied speculation that the competition might be rigged. The last 3 episodes the competitor clearly had the better dish but Tiffany, Scott and Naneet managed to win. There have been a number of episodes where the challenger definitely had the better dish but guess what? What a hokey bunch of crap. In Scott’s episode: the dishes were both very close, however, Scott scarcely used the ranch packets.
The viewing audience is not fooled! I don't know that Scott Conant needs any more ego stroking, but it was still fun to watch. Should be judged blind when there is so much bias in play. Food Network should scrap this. We’ve seen the judges compete numerous times on Chopped and many other shows, so for me, it’s like, meh whatever. I have been a loyal fan of Chopped for many years. According to past participants, the actual cooking aspects of the contest are as high-pressure as they appear. The whole thing is a farce.
Conant had blood on his station last week that would have automatically disqualified a regular competitor but he just had dozens of staff rush over there scouting around looking for blood & continued on! It's very much like real kitchen life, and you have to just make it happen.". Our fall TV preview concludes with a comprehensive guide to the new and... 2013 Fall TV Preview: Our Comprehensive Guide to the Season's New and Returning Shows. Alex and Scott both should have lost IMO. Episode 1. i. Chopped - Beat The Judge. Well the final round was rigged too.
But he’s following a script. Scott more or less had an ingredient unrepresented on the plate and they still handed it to him. The first episode of this new series pits esteemed chef Alex Guarnaschelli, an Iron Chef and owner of New York’s Butter restaurant, against chef Jen, a chef from California, in the final dessert round. Anyone else feel like this is rigged and a waste of time. Scott's episode was close. It's a fast-paced cooking show, with a ton of drama, lots of interesting characters, and a bunch of octopuses, all rolled into a neat, one-hour package. But, nothing is quite what it seems on the surface, especially when we're talking about a TV show. I really like the format. His colleagues are judging him? Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo. Is anyone else enjoying this as much as I am? Enjoyed the show since locked down except this particular show with Tiffany and a chef contestant. "They really draw out the anticipation," she stated.
I used to think Scott Conant was the sexiest chef.....but when he told Tiffani he got emotional over her dish.......seriously????!!!
14 comments. There's no stop and go. "We were standing in front of the basket for about 15 minutes before we could open it. I was like, 'Are there any holes in the basket I can peek through?'". I was pleasantly surprised by the savory basket. Judging resulted in the same inconsistencies as the previous episode. I saw judge Alex’s episode last week where she was the BIGGEST sore loser before the judging even commenced. I agree that blind judging format would be more fair but the concept is entertaining. A subreddit dedicated to all the great shows and chefs on the food network. At this point I don’t think they will let a judge lose as it would be too humiliating for the judge. “If I had to say something wink you know I do...” yes of course you have to say something. New episodes air every Tuesday at 9 p.m. Agreed. Again, maybe it’s just me, but I got the vibe that he was poking fun at himself a bit. Scott should be chopped as judge!!!!!! I hope the judges and the Food network get access to this feedback as it is relevant and calls them out.
